Der Forschungs- und Technologiebericht 2015 ist ein Bericht der Bundesregierung an den Nationalrat gem . § 8 ( 2 ) FOG über die Lage und Bedürfnisse von Forschung , Technologie und Innovation in Österreich und wurde im Auftrag der Bundesministerien für Wissenschaft , Forschung und Wirtschaft ( BMWFW ) und Verkehr , Innovation und Technologie ( BMVIT ) erarbeitet .
The Austrian Research and Technology Report 2015 is a report by the federal government to the Parliament ( National Council ) in accordance with section 8 ( 2 ) of the Research Organisation Act ( FOG ) on the status and requirements related to research , technology , and innovation in Austria .
It was compiled by the Federal Ministry of Science , Research and Economy ( BMWFW ) and the Federal Ministry for Transport , Innova- tion and Technology ( BMVIT ) .
Auf Basis aktueller Daten , Analysen und Befunde werden relevante Entwicklungstrends und ausgewählte Themen des österreichischen Innovationssystems beschrieben und im internationalen Kontext reflektiert .
The report looks at current data , analyses and findings to describe significant trends in development and key themes in Austria ’ s system of innovation and examine them in an international context .
Neben der Darstellung der jüngsten Globalschätzung über die Entwicklung der F & E-Ausgaben in Österreich für das Jahr 2015 , einer Positionierung Österreichs in internationalen Rankings und des aktuellen Umsetzungsstandes der FTI-Strategie werden aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich der Universitäten und des Unternehmenssektors dargestellt .
In addition to presenting the latest global estimate by Statistik Austria on trends in R & D expenditure in Austria for 2015 and Austria ’ s position in international rankings as well as the current implementation status of the RTI strategy , it also discusses current developments in the area of universities and the business enterprise sector .
Zudem werden der Zusammenhang zwischen Innovation und Beschäftigung , der Stand zu Chancengleichheit und Gender in FTI und die Möglichkeiten innovationsfördernder öffentlicher Beschaffung in Schwerpunktkapiteln umrissen .

Global estimate of R & D expenditure in 2015
Gemäß der aktuellen Globalschätzung der Statistik Austria vom April 2015 werden die gesamten Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung in Österreich 2015 voraussichtlich gegenüber dem Jahr 2014 um rd .
271,36 Mio. € bzw. 2,76 % nominell wachsen und damit erstmals die 10 Mrd. € -Schwelle überschreiten ( 10,10 Mrd. € ) .
According to Statistics Austria ’ s current estimate from April 2015 , expenditure for research and development carried out in Austria in 2015 is projected to grow nominally by around € 271.36 million or 2.76 % compared to 2014 , thereby exceeding the € 10 billion threshold for the first time ( € 10.10 billion ) .

As a result of the revised version of the European System of Accounts ( ESA ) 2010 , which came into force in September 2014 and is used to calculate gross domestic product ( GDP ) , the basis used to calculate the R & D intensity ( gross domestic expenditure for research and development compared with GDP ) for 2015 differs from the one used for 2014 , which was still based on the ESA 1995 .
