Several versions of this tune exist. They can be found in the “KiTsuNe / Brian the Fox” series, recorded between 1998 – 2015. 2015 Nao Katafuchi Émergence Nadanna/Anna Logue Awakening Vocals. (reading) The intro and ending of the song features Tomo’s 1986 release “Ray” from “Kojiki To Onna”.

Tomo Akikawabaya is a Japanese electronic musician, Experimental artist.
Tomo Akikawabaya（とも あきかわばや）は、日本のミュージシャン、エクスペリメンタル・アーティスト。
There he met and became involved with the punk band Desperate Bicycles. They were practicing in the basement of his friend’s house. After the departure of their guitar player, Tomo joined the band, However, Tomo left England just before the recording of their first album “Remorse Code.”
1978〜1979年、ファッション勉学のために渡英。その際ロンドンの友人宅で地下室を練習場所としていた当時のバンドDesperate Bicyclesと出会う。偶然、メンバー入替えに際し、ギタリストとしてバンドの一員となる。その在籍時、メンバー間での呼び名がTomoであった。しかしファースト・アルバム（タイトル・Remorse Code）のレコーディング直前に帰国。
After returning to Japan Tomo started performing (1979-1980). During that period he gave improvised guitar solo performances in clubs around the Tokyo area.
1979〜1980年、帰国後は、東京都内のライブハウスにて、ギターソロによるインプロヴィゼーションのライブ活動を行う。
By that time, he had modified his work into a minimal electronic style using vocals & synthesizers. However through this work, he gained little recognition from the Japanese independent music scene. This was because he didn’t perform the live, limiting his musical activity to studio recordings only.
1981年より、Tomo Akikawabaya名義にて、アルバムThe Castleのスタジオ録音を開始。それを期に、ボーカルとシンセサイザーを中心としたスタイルへとサウンドを変化させた。
The Tomo Akikawabaya project ended in 1986 with the release of a limited box set of work spanning the projects duration. The title of the box set -Rivage De La Convulsion, was translated into French by Kosaku Ikuta (1924-1994), then a scholar of French literature in Japan.
ボックスセットのタイトル Rivage De La Convulsionは、当時Tomoと交流のあった日本のフランス文学者、評論家・生田耕作氏（1924〜1994年）に翻訳を依頼したもの。
While Tomo was recording at the studio (Bea Pot Studio, Tokyo), he encountered and was highly impressed by the work & exceptional talent of engineer Takaaki Han-ya. Together they began a collaboration forming the band “Beata Beatrix.” The band made 4 albums worth of recordings beginning in 1987, although none of them were ever officially released.
1987年以降（ユニット）名義はBeata Beatrixとなり、同名義に於ける録音は現在までに凡そアルバム４枚分（全て未発表）に及ぶ。1997年にベスト盤（CD）をPR用のみに制作。そのアルバムがきっかけとなり、In The Nursery、ロバート・ワイアット等との共演が生まれた。

Tomo’s music is based in synthpop. His influences are mainly literal, drawing inspiration from writers such as; Edgar Allan Poe, Marquis de Sade, Georges Rodenbach, Arthur Machen, Lord Dunsany, Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, and Joris-Karl Huysmans.
テクノミュージックをベースとしながらも、歌（歌詞）は独自の世界観をもつ。作品への主な影響は、主に文学で有り、エドガー・アラン・ポー、マルキ・ド・サド、ローデンバック、アーサー・マッケン、ロード・ダンセイニ、シェリダン・レ・ファニュ、ジョリス＝カルル・ユイスマンス等であった。
Sleeping Sickness - The song was imagined to evolve into the opening track “Rebirth.” Some of the equipment used in the recording was borrowed from Jin Yoshida (Salon Music) who was recording demo material at the same studio. For this album, Kazuko Matsuoka, a researcher of English literature, translated all lyrics into English.
Mars - ローデンバックの小説「死都ブリュージュ」をベースとしている。 Fire - フランスの現代美術家、イヴ・クラインの作品（炎）をイメージの源泉としている。また「死と陶酔」はアルバム全体のテーマとなっている。 Sleeping Sickness - 再び、アルバム冒頭（Rebirth）への回帰をイメージした作品。 レコーディングで使われた機材の一部は、当時、同じスタジオでデモ録音を行っていたSALON MUSICの吉田仁氏から借り受けたもの。 The Castleはアルバムを通し、イギリス文学の研究家、松岡和子が英詩を監修した。
Tomo had already designed, and made 4 dresses for her (When Tomo was in London (1978-1979), he had studied under the designer Hachi, who had a studio in South Molton Street. Hachi later designed dresses for princess Diana). The photos were shot by the photographer Alao Yokogi both at his photo studio, and on the coastline of Atami, Japan.
ジャケット撮影に於いては、モデル・アンジュ の為に、Tomo自身のデザインにより４点のドレスを制作。スタジオと野外（熱海）での２回の撮影を（Tomo自身が立会い）カメラマン・横木安良夫氏が行った。 The Castleでのドレスは、ロジェ・ヴァディム監督の映画「悪徳の栄」（マルキ・ド・サド原作）でのカトリーヌ・ドヌーブが着用したドレスを元にしたもの。
Tomo then worked as her stylist, making costumes for the models, actresses, and singers with whom she collaborated. He also learned about photographic techniques through ‘sitting in’ on photo sessions. He (Tomo) is currently active as a photographer as well as as a musician.
モデルのアンジュは、ジャケット撮影以降、ジバンシーの専属モデルとなりパリに渡り、トップモデルとして活躍。またYMOの映画プロパガンダ（1984年）には、女優として出演。
On the 12-inch vinyl version, the reversed ending section of the song was attached to the intro, providing a continuous segue or loop, signifying that the track could evolve into itself. This idea was taken from Friedrich Nietzsche’s ‘eternal return’ concept. The lyrics reflected the embodiment of sorrow, providing an insight into the eternal world.
アルバムThe Castleに続き、発表された作品。12インチ盤での冒頭には、曲ラスト部の逆回転テープが付けられて居り、（聞く都度）冒頭へと常に回帰する構造となっている。そのアイデアはニーチェの「永劫回帰」からで有り、有限な世界への嘆きと達観、その歌詞を体現したものである。
The Hill of Dreams - The song was inspired by and dedicated to Arthur Machen’s novel “The Hill of Dreams,” and the tune sought to reproduce a sunset burning sky, with the sound of bells.
The Hill of Dreams - アーサー・マッケンの同名小説に捧げられたもので、焼ける様な夕焼けと鐘の音を再現した作品。
A Gizmotron was used on the last half of the song (It was also used on the tracks “Fire” and “Dark” in the album ‘The Castle’)
曲の後半部には、当時の革新的な楽器GIZMOTRONが使用されて居り、他にもアルバム The Castle での Fire と Dark に於いても効果的に使用されている。

In recent years Tomo’s work has spread to the world through the medium of the internet. It has brought him many new fans. He received reissue offers from various record labels worldwide, Tomo settled with Minimal Wave Records in 2015.
長年、インターネットに於いてTomoの曲が拡散し続けた事により、世界中に多くのファンが生まれた。また各レーベルから再発オファーも相次ぎ、2015年、予てよりTomo自身が関心を寄せるVeronica VasickaのレーベルMinimal Waveにて再発が決定。
The album was released as a double LP with a gatefold cover, and featured all songs from his 12” releases of Mars, The castle, and 1985. All of the original tracks were digitized, and re-mastered. The album cover featured an unreleased photo of Anju (taken by Tomo).
同レーベルでは、再発に伴いオリジナル・マスターテープからの音源を（デジタル化）新たにマスタリング処理。ジャケットには当時の未発表写真と、 Tomo自身が撮影したThe Castleで実際に使用したドレスの写真を採用し、２枚組、見開きジャケットでリリースされた。ジャケットのデザインはマーク・ジェイコブスやCélineなどのブランドのパッケージングを手がけるグラフィック・デザイナー、Peter Milesが担当した。

Tomokazu Matsuyama (松山智一 Matsuyama Tomokazu, born April 30, 1976 in Takayama, Gifu, Japan) is a Japanese contemporary artist. Matsuyama lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
松山 智一（まつやま ともかず 1976年4月30日 - ）は、ニューヨーク在住アーティスト、画家、現代美術家。 岐阜県高山市出身。
After graduating Sophia University, Tokyo, Matsuyama moved to New York and attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he received his MFA in Communications Design in 2014.
上智大学卒業後2002年渡米。NY私立美術大学院 プラット・インスティテュート（Pratt Institute）コミュニケーションズ・デザイン科を首席で卒業。
