Half-Life (stylized as HλLF-LIFE) is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Valve and published by Sierra Studios for Microsoft Windows in 1998.
Half-Life (stílført sum HλLF-LIFE) er eitt telduspæl við science fiction-tema, skapað av Valve og útgivið av Sierra Studios til Microsoft Windows í 1998.

It was Valve's debut product and the first in the Half-Life series.
Tað var fyrsta spælið frá Valve og hitt fyrsta spælið í Half Life-røðini.

Players assume the role of Dr. Gordon Freeman, who must fight his way out of a secret research facility after an experiment goes wrong, fighting enemies and solving puzzles.
Spælarin spælir sum Dr. Gordon Freeman, ið má stríða og flýggja undan loyniligum granskingarstovni eftir at ein roynd miseydnast.

Unlike many other games at the time, the player has almost complete uninterrupted control of Freeman, and the story is told through scripted sequences seen through his eyes.
Mótsett øðrum telduspølum frá tí tíðini hevur spælaren næstan fult vald yvir Freeman, og hendingagongdin er fortald ígjøgnum eyguni hjá Freeman.

Valve co-founder Gabe Newell said the team aimed to create an immersive world rather than a "shooting gallery". The game's engine, GoldSrc, is a heavily modified version of the Quake engine licensed from id Software.
Gabe Newell, samstovnarin hjá Valve, segði at arbeiðsbólkurin vildi skapa ein hugtakandi verøld í staðin fyri ein "skjótingarsalong". Spælmotorurin, GoldSrc, er eitt broytt avbigdi av Quake-motorini frá id Software.

Half-Life received acclaim for its graphics, realistic gameplay, and seamless narrative.
Half-Life fekk góðir ummæli fyri teknindini, spælmekanismuni og frásøgnini.

It won over fifty PC "Game of the Year" awards and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time.[3] It influenced first-person shooters for years after its release.
Tað vann fleiri enn 50 "árarinnar spæl"-prísar og verður talt ímillum hini bestu spølini nakrantíð. Spælið hevur ávirkað á skjúttaspøl nógv ár eftir at tað varð sloppið..

V, I, and R, the parameters of Ohm's law
Parametrarnir í Ohms lóg eru V, I, og R

Ohm's law states that the current through a conductor between two points is directly proportional to the voltage across the two points.
Ohm's lóg sigur at streymurin ígjøgnum ein leiðara fylgjur lutfallinum á spenninginum ímillum punktini.

Introducing the constant of proportionality, the resistance,[1] one arrives at the usual mathematical equation that describes this relationship:[2]
Hettar førur til ein konstant í lýsur hetta lutfalli, ið verður kallaður mótstandur. Hetta lutfallið verður hetta lýst við fylgjandi líking:

where I is the current through the conductor in units of amperes, V is the voltage measured across the conductor in units of volts, and R is the resistance of the conductor in units of ohms. More specifically, Ohm's law states that the R in this relation is constant, independent of the current.[3] Ohm's law is an empirical relation which accurately describes the conductivity of the vast majority of electrically conductive materials over many orders of magnitude of current. However some materials do not obey Ohm's law, these are called non-ohmic.
Har I er streymur í rennur í gjøgnum leiðarin, mált í Ampere, V er spenningur máldur yvur leiðarin, máldur í Volt, og R er mótstandurin á leiðarinum, máldur í Ohm.

In circuit analysis, three equivalent expressions of Ohm's law are used interchangeably:
Ohms lóg kann skrivast uppá tríggjar mátar, ið allir lýsa lutfalli ímillum streym, spenning og mótstand:

In electronics and electromagnetism, the electrical resistance of an object is a measure of its opposition to the flow of electric current. The reciprocal quantity is electrical conductance, and is the ease with which an electric current passes. Electrical resistance shares some conceptual parallels with the notion of mechanical friction.
Í elektronikki og elektromagnetismu, er elektriska mótstøðan á einum luti eitt mát yvir mongdina av forðing av elektriskum streymi yvir lutin.

The SI unit of electrical resistance is the ohm (Ω), while electrical conductance is measured in siemens (S) (formerly called “mho”s and then represented by ℧).
SI eindin fyri eletriska móttstøðu er ohm (Ω)

The resistance R of an object is defined as the ratio of voltage V across it to current I through it, while the conductance G is the reciprocal:
Mótstandurin R á einum luti verður lýst sum elektriski spenningurin V tvørtur um lutin við streymunum I ígjøgnum hann.
